Quench your thirst...with these two homemade Summer beverages! They are healthier drinks because they contain honey instead of high-fructose corn syrup and no artificial flavors/junk. Cheers!
2 ounces rum
10 fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon honey
1 1/4 cups sparkling/carbonated water (unsweetened)
Fresh lime slices and mint leaves, for garnish
Combine
all ingredients in a bowl or drink shaker. Stir well or shake to mix.
Garnish with more mint and lime, if desired. Serves 2.
2 tablespoons honey
2 large slices of fresh lemon, chopped
3 cups boiling water
4-5 black tea bags (depending on preferred strength, orange pekoe is nice)
Boil 3 cups of water. Place in a heat-resistant jug or jar (at least 1 L in size) the lemon slices, honey, and tea bags. Pour the water into the jar/jug and let steep and cool for 1-2 hours. When cool, refrigerate. Serve with a lemon wedge, if desired. Serves 3-4.
Both look yummy - I think I'll try them :)
