Here is a recipe for a natural and homemade face mask. It is full of ridiculously healthy food that surprisingly is very cleansing for the skin. This recipe will make a lot, so either plan to make face masks for a week, share it with a friend, or eat the remaining batch! Vitamin E oil or capsules are available at drug stores and major grocery stores (pharmacy section). It is great to have around especially with summer coming as it can be applied to sunburns (or other burns) to help with healing. If eating the remaining batch, don't add the vitamin E.
1/2 cup plain yogurt (organic is best)
1/4 cup oats
1/2 of an avocado
1/4 of a cucumber, including skin
Juice of half a lemon, about 2-4 tablespoons worth of juice
Optional: 1 tablespoon vitamin E oil or 2 vitamin E capsules cut and their contents dumped into the batch.
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Apply to face. Let sit for 30 minutes. Wash off with warm water, then finish with a splash of cold. Store remaining mask in the fridge for up to a week.
