This is going to sound weird... chickpeas mixed with condiments, gross!... but you have to trust me on this one, especially if you like hamburgers and and if like hummus. I make a lot of homemade chickpea burgers and then top them with typical burger condiments. But why not skip a step and just combine it all into one awesome spread? It's like eating burgers, by the spoonful!
Hamburger Hummus
2 cups chickpeas (or one 500 mL can)
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons mayonnaise*
2 tablespoons relish (optional)
Drain and rinse your chickpeas really well. Combine the chickpeas and condiments in a blender. Blend until smooth. Spread super thick onto a bun (instant burger!), eat with raw veggies, or crackers. Makes almost three cups worth of hummus. Store remaining hummus in the fridge. *I use Vegenaise.
